About the Role
The Finance Controller at Eon is a senior level position responsible for financial management, reporting, and payroll oversight. This includes supervising accounting team members, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The Finance Controller plays a crucial role in optimizing financial performance, managing risk, and ensuring the organization's financial health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external auditors.
Oversee the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and financial operations.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance. Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to maintain financial stability and liquidity.
Financial Reporting
Provide insightful analysis of financial results and trends to support decision-making.
Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets (along with supporting schedules), income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Monitor budget adherence and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvement.
In collaboration with the CFO, lead the annual budgeting process with Eon leaders and department heads.
Develop accurate financial forecasts and variance analyses to guide resource allocation and strategic planning.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and taxation laws.
Manage internal and external audits, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions.
Identify and mitigate financial risks through sound risk management practices.
Strategic Financial Analysis
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Evaluate investment opportunities and business initiatives.
Participate in cross-functional teams to assess financial implications of organizational strategies.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Implement best practices in financial reporting, data analysis, and information systems.
Support the implementation of a new ERP system.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
Proven experience (10+ years) in financial management, accounting, and analysis, with progressive responsibility.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Significant experience with the SaaS business model and related accounting and reporting principles and metrics.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, particularly Sage Intacct and/or Oracle NetSuite
Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and motivating a team.
Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to overall business strategy discussions.
